Genre's or Not

One of the first questions, us teens, ask each other, is "Do you listen to music?". The answer, undoubtedly, is a "Ofcourse I do! Who doesn't?" or, "Duh!".
Yes, well, I do know a few people who are anti-music. It puzzles me as to how they survive, but nevertheless, to each his own.
The question that shortly follows is, "What genre's do you listen to?".
Now here, I have a small objection. Not because, people segregate their choice of music, but because some are so restricted to one kind of it, that they take up deep dislike for others.
Just because they may like a few similar kind of songs or music pieces more than others, doesn't mean all other songs of other genres aren't of their interest.
It's fine if "genre's" are just used to classify songs. But to only listen to one type of genre would a little unfair to other pontentially good songs. Isn't it?
Personally, anything that sounds good to me, goes on my iPod. Anything that pleases my ear. It really doesn't matter what language it is, although sometimes its a plus point if I understand the lyrics. But music-wise, anything that catches the ear is good enough for me. I wouldn't care what band, or genre it comes from.
Besides, I can barely set apart in the genres. I don't know why, but I can't diffrentiate much in them. So I don't even bother.
I mean, at the end of the day.. Music is music, right?
