This article discusses some of the harmful ingredients that are being used in McDonald's restaurants which is one of the largest fast food chains in the world. It also discusses the side effects that are a direct result of the chemicals that are used to produce these foods. The governing bodies that regulate the listing of ingredients is partly to blame because of the legislation that is place, because it does not require to list the amount of trans-fat in these foods only to state that there is trans-fat in the food. The solution to this problem is to list in order the ingredients that are in the foods the quantity of the ingredients and the potential side effects that could be attributed to eating these foods.
The article indicates that even though there is a lack of government regulations regarding fast food ingredients, we should educate ourselves on what is being used in the food we eat and the possible harm it could do to our bodies. I will be using this idea in the first part of my research paper where I discuss the ingredients used in fast foods.

This article identifies sheds light on the link between fast foods and childhood obesity. Over the past few decades there has been a shift in what we eat and where we eat, that couple with the fact that as a society we are busier now more than ever. Most homes rely on incomes from both parents opening the door for quicker more convenient meal choices. Children today are involved in many more extracurricular activities than in past generations so they are becoming more adapted to a "microwave" society. The answer is to set aside every day in order to have the time to prepare meals that are healthy and beneficial to our bodies and create a culture of healthy eating in the home.
This article indicates the problem that we are faced with today that is a direct result of the hectic society we live in and have grown accustom to. I will be using this idea to help create an argument for more awareness on healthy living and eating that starts in the home.
