Himalayan village of Komik is lying at an elevation of 4,587 meters. It is world’s highest village available by a motor able road. Yet, remote as it is, even though it is a remote place but it is affected by climatic changes. It is having a thoughtful result on the village’s method of life and, on a superior scale, the delicate ecosystems of the Himalayas, sometimes recognized as the world’s “third pole.” This village is situated in the arid Spiti Valley, in the state Himachal Pradesh. Life for Komik’s 130 populations are relying mainly on agriculture to survive, is ruthless. Yet recent years have seen customary watercourses, the livelihood of the region, drying up, presenting a growing danger to their already weak survival. The village having a population of some 12,000 people, their culture is similar to Buddhist. This place is home to some 46,000 glaciers, the Tibetan Plateau is the main source of easy to get to fresh water on the earth and the foundation of Asia’s six major rivers—including the Ganges, Mekong, and Yangtze—which bring one-third of the world’s population. Over the history 50 years, temperatures on the Tibetan Plateau have increased by 1.3ºC—three times the global average—causing glaciers to move away, permafrost to decline, and grasslands to corrupt, accompanied by increasing desertification. Some studies have expected that extra two-thirds of the glaciers could vanish by 2050. Decrease glaciers, unpredictable rainfall, less snow, and warmer temperatures are attractive their toll, with rivers, streams, and lakes quickly drying up. In 2015–16, there wasn’t sufficient snowfall and so when summer came, the springs which are the major foundation of irrigation for people were all dehydrated. There was barely any crop. Because of this climate changing, this could be terrible for people existing there. This environmental issue can be related with sustainable development. Sustainable development means that organizing standard for assembling human growth goals while at the same time supporting the capability of natural systems to offer the natural property and ecology. The causes of this drought are industrialization, over usage of vehicles, population growth, deforestation, air, water and soil pollutions and ground water exploitation. We cannot say that we should not go for any development process it is very important for humans, but if it can destroy earth as well as other living things in the earth then it cannot be acceptable. We should always go for a sustainable development processes.
