Terrorism poses a threat to the world. There are many possible implications of

the "war on terror." Terrorism is the deliberate and systematic use of violence against civilians

with the aim of advancing political, religious, or ideological causes. Terrorism has become a

persistent feature of the globalized world. It has been practiced throughout history. Acts of

terror therefore punctuated the era falling World War Two, as individuals and groups the world

over attempted to destabilize or overthrow political systems within or outside their countries.

Terrorism has shown itself in the anticolonial conflicts in Algeria and Vietnam and conflicts

between the Israelis and Palestinians.

A fact about terrorists is that he is "one person's terrorist is another person's

freedom fighter". Terrorists use violent means-from hijacking and hostage taking to

assassinations and mass murder-to magnify their influence and power. Terrorists and their

organizations are limited in size and resources. During the last decades of the twentieth century

and the first decade of the twenty-first century, terrorism has become more threatening due to

sophisticated financial support networks, reliable and good supply of weapons technology, and

places of sanctuary. The global world got its attention on terrorism as a result of the terror

attacks against the United States in September 2001.

On the morning of the second Tuesday of September, New York and Washington D.C.

became the targets of a surprising destructive terrorist attack. Hijackers seized four passenger

planes and used them as guided missiles. Two of the planes crashed into the World Trade

Center towers, another plane crashed into the Pentagon, while the fourth plane crashed into a

field outside Pittsburgh,Pennslyvania. Osama bin Laden and the Al-Qaeda were the

masterminds behind this attack. President George W. Bush declared war on Osama bin Laden

and global terrorism itself.
