Objective
The Objective of this report is to find, define and understand a problem which occurred during the outbound trip to Ramnagar, and find a probable solution and how the problem was tackled in the trip and how different is it from the solution being offered.
The Problem
The Problem selected by the group is How to reach resort on time on our way from college.
Causes
- A student reached the college late which made the departure time to be delayed by an hour.
- The Driver was not able to focus. The reasons for that were:
- Noises made by students.
- Random request to switch ON and OFF the AC at regular intervals.
- There were not enough sign boards on the way to resort.
- Minor accident happened near resort.
- The roads were too narrow for our buses.
- The condition of roads was not good.
- The driver was not able to focus, as they brought the bus on our way back to college from resort via the same path without an accident with the only difference of students not being inside the bus.
Consequences
- We lost a lot of time on our first day because of the reasons mentioned above and even lost way to resort.
Solution
The students could have come on time and had been a little more disciplined when they saw the roads were narrow and someone from resort could have either accompanied on the way or more sign boards could be placed, even the drivers could have communicated with the resort a day before to confirm the route to be taken.
What actually happened?
The students were making noises, random requests to turn on or off the AC and were getting down to get sugarcane at places where the bus was stuck and the drivers where trying to figure a way to get out of there which creates a chaos and also led to a small accident since the driver was not able to focus, thus making us late in reaching the resort, because of no sign boards and no prior communication between drivers and resort employees this resulted in confusion and the way was lost.
