ABORTION

Abortion has always been a very controversial topic that has been the subject of debate many times. There are two groups of people who are for and against it. The pro-life group is adamantly against abortion while the pro-choice group believes that it is the mother's choice whether or not to abort a child. No matter how many times this topic has been argued abortion is and always will remain wrong. The abortions, causes health risks for the mother and her future pregnancies.

The most obvious reason why I think that abortion is wrong is because it is killing of a human being. When they have an abortion, we take the life of an innocent child. No one has the right to take the life of another person. I have read lots of articles and magazines saying that the mother would feel really bad after having the abortion and regret about it. This problem is even more common when there is pressure by others on the mother to have the abortion.

Another reason why I do not believe abortions should be done is because of the many risks involved for the woman undergoing the abortion. The risks involved are both medical and emotional. The medical risks when performing an abortion can be very serious, and even deadly. The doctors also tell them before having an abortion. When a child is born, the doctors are the ones who gets to hold the baby first. They would not want to kill the child. The emotional effects that are usually experienced by women after having an abortion are also very terrible and can cause some women to be completely devastated or depressed.

Even though, I take the pro-life position on abortion and believe that it is morally wrong, I do believe that in certain situations, abortion is the best possible course of action. One such example is when a woman's pregnancy will most likely result in her death as well as the death of the fetus. As I can give an example, In my family one of my aunt was having a second child. But, she did not know she was pregnant. So, she had to abort the baby or else the mother could have died. In such cases, I think abortion is the only choice you have.

On a whole, I do not think that abortion should be legalized for any reason other than medical reasons. Women must learn to take responsibility for their choices. Alternatives to abortion do exist and I believe that one good alternative is adoption. Every child deserves a right to live and taking that away is something that nobody has a right to do.
