Allowance Case

Who doesn't like to have a little money in their pocket here and there? Everyone loves to have money to spend on the things that they want, especially teenagers. I really think that my parents should consider giving me an allowance, for many reasons. I think my parents should give me an allowance reason one being that, I do well in school, I do my chores around the house without being told to, and getting an allowance would teach me good management skills at an early age.

Every since I was old enough to go to school, I have did great in all my classes and been on top of things, school wise. As soon as I get home, homework is the first thing that gets done, because it is a priority to me. I think that allowance would be a great way for my parents to show that they appreciate my good work in school. I have never gotten a D or an F on my report card, and even if I get a C I began to think about what I can do to improve for the next grading period. Getting a little money here and there would add to my desire to go to school, only because I have something to look forward to besides a successful future.

With me being the oldest, I have always had to take the responsibility along with my mom of making sure the house is clean and presentable at every moment of the day. When someone walks in the house my parents expects them to feel as though they are walking into a new hotel, spotless. As ridiculous as this sounds, it's true my parents hates to see things dirty. I really dislike doing chores around the house, but if I had an incentive such as an allowance, I would be more than happy to clean the bathroom, sweep the floors, wash the dishes etc.

Every time I get money, I have to go shopping, at least half of the money I get goes to clothes. I love going shopping, I love to get new things, and I love to dress to impress. One day at school my dad, gave me $20 and told me to spend it wisely. I was supposed to go to the movies with my friends that same weekend but something went wrong. When I came back from school I noticed that I only had 5 dollars left, I sat down and began to think on where all the money went. I spent $7 during lunch; I gave $3 to a friend, and gave $5 back to a friend that I owed. Before I knew it I had only 5 dollars left, and I was not able to go to the movies that weekend. This goes to show that if I was to get a monthly or weekly income of money, this would teach good money management skills. In order to not be wasteful and unappreciative of money I would be forced to create a budget for myself. Creating a budget for myself would teach me the values of saving money,. Saving money is important because you never know if you need to crack open the piggy bank in case of an emergency.

Getting an allowance is not a bad idea at all; It will ensure that a lot of things get done. It will ensure that the house gets clean; it will also ensure good grades. I think that about $50 a week would be sufficient.
