America is a nation. It is great. It got it's independence in 1776. We had to fight for it first in the revoluntary war against Great Britain. It was all worth it. Thanks to great leadership from George Washington. He was a good Christian man. The United States of America used to have only 13 colonies. Then later on it started getting more states. They got many states from the Luisiana Purchase. Bonaparte from France sold the states to the U.S. Then the United States got even more states from Mexico. Mexico was a brand new country and the United States took advantage of it and stole their land. They took more than half of Mexico away. They gave them a little bit of money so they can say that they bought the land, however, they did not. California and Texas were part of Mexico. The U.S. striked it big with these states because the had lots of gold and oil. That really changed its course in history. America was way better back then. They don't really talk about this "Mexican War" if you can even call it that. Just like they don't really talk about the Japanese camps they had here during WWII. They are ashamed of it and embarrased. Well, they should be. It was so wrong. However, I still think America is a great nation. I don't agree with everything that happens here or is allowed here. However, I loved this country's beginning. It had a great foundation. They had awesome leaders. Now, America is so much different. I wish it would go back to how it used to be.
