Conclusion/ The American Scholar
You should live as feely and brave as possible. You should not limit your life and alter you decisions based on pre assumptions. The pre assumptions can limit your experiences and stop you from living life to the fullest.
In The American Scholar, Emerson stated, "Free should the scholar be, free and brave." Emerson also talked about how fear stems from ignorance and how bad things happen because of presumption. In Conclusion by Walden, Walden believes that your views are a lot clearer if you simplify your life. When you simplify your life, you are more free. When you live your life freely you live more to your satisfaction. You do the things you want to do. You live by your own rules and your own restrictions if you choose to have them.
Sometimes I sit back and evaluate my own life. I think about my family, my friends, and the world around me. I try to live by example, where someone could view my life and will be able to say "That how you live." When you view your own life, it's easy to understand and view what's happening around you.
Fear is meant to keep you safe. It is not meant to prevent you or stop you from doing things. If you feel that something bad is going to happen, out of fear, you remove yourself from the situation. If you are walking in your home and you hear an unfamiliar noise, out of fear, you may stop to check things out but you don't just move out of your home because of the noise. You fear things that you are unfamiliar with. But until you try those things they will never become familiar to you. Stay open minded to new things. That is a part of being free.
