Argument Credibility Peer Review

I do believe that this student accurately identified the claims. I think that abortion is a relatively well-known topic of discussion and has been argued both for and against practicing the termination of unwanted pregnancies. The student has compared the claims against his or her own personal observations and I would have to say that I disagree with what they believe. I understand that the fetus may have a heartbeat at the gestation age of eight weeks, but going through with a pregnancy in certain situations could be detrimental to the child's health. A 13-year old girl made the mistake of performing sexual intercourse with a punctured condom, should this child have a child of her own? If an avid drug user happens to end up pregnant, should she still go through with the pregnancy and take the chance that the baby may come out mentally incapable of living a normal and healthy life? These are questions that go through my mind when I hear about someone who is against the act of abortion.

The student's background information is different than my own. This person has known people who have experienced abortion for whatever reason they have. I know of just one person who has gone through with abortion and the reason was, she was not in the right situation for the pregnancy to be safe or healthy. She made an executive decision and aborted the pregnancy.

I am sure that the student made an accurate judgment about the author's bias or trustworthiness. It sounds as though this article that they have reviewed was based more on facts about the abortion pill and what the effects may be. This article was found in the school library, so everyone knows that the creditability is completely there.

The concepts from the feedback tutorial were very informative. I believe that positive feedback is very important to the student who may be receiving this information. Constructive feedback helps highlight the good points in an essay and what may need improvement. Being positive, also helps the receiver to open up more and accept what the instructor may be trying to help with.
