As Days Go Bye

Who would have thought that the day would finally come when I would be attending my last first day of high school? I definitely wouldn't have and I still don't believe it has happened. I still remember when I first came to the school, walking into the gymnasium that bitter cold September morning, to sit anxiously with my friends while we waited for our names to be called indicating what homeroom we would be in. I remember how excited I was and how cool I felt to finally be attending high school, even if I was just in grade seven. Now I think about walking into the school last Tuesday, thinking about how today will be the last time I ever look for my homeroom class or even the last time I have to pick out a locker. It makes you think about how much you've actually grown up and makes you realize that you have finally made it to your grade 12 year.

High school really is a major part of some ones life, it is a stepping stone into the real world. However, there are far to many people that take high school way to seriously and think that the real world will be just the same. In reality, no one cares how many friends you have on facebook or how expensive the shirt your wearing is, all they care about is how you come off as a person and your personality. High school teaches people so much about life, it teaches you to treat other how you want to be treated or that to achieve something you have to actually put effort in and not just expect it to appear. High school has taught me so much and has allowed me to gain experiences and life lessons I would never have gained if I didn't attend it.

As cheesy as it sounds, Sacred Heart has really been a big part of my life and as much as people might dislike high school and all the drama that goes with it, I will truly miss it. I have dealt with it all, the good and the bad of high school but I wouldn't trade it for the world. It has shaped me into the person I am today and I don't regret nor am ashamed of how I turned out.
