Do you think killing yourself is fanatical if you have a horrifying disease? The government does. They think you should live your life through your pain and suffering. There was a doctor by the name of Jack Kevorkian that wanted to revolutionize all that. He thought if you were suffering you had the right to die. People should be able to die dignity. They would die on their own terms. He created a machine called the "Thantron" which would kill you painlessly. One thinks that assisted suicide should be legal, because you should have the right to die if you are exhausted of the anguish from an illness.
Dr. Kevorkian first patient had "Alzheimer's Disease". She was suffering so he came up with a machine that would inject her with lethal drugs to stop the heart. They become unable to continue the same lifestyle that they once had and they often are more ill and have to be looked after by family or others. The patients he assisted were terminally ill they could live a prosperous life. The machine first put you to sleep then a strong drug puts you to sleep. When the government heard about this were mad. They tried to send him to jail. They gave him an injunction (Kevorkian ignored the entire injunction) after many ignored threats Kevorkian got his license taken away. That would not stop Kevorkian. He just replaced his other drugs with carbon monoxide to kill his patients. "Carbon monoxide is used without prescription"(world book online 2012) Kevorkian got cocky with his work he gave CBS a copy of a death "he gave to CBS television network which broadcasting an edited version of 60 Min." "The judge sentenced him to serve concurrent prison terms 10 to 25 years for murder. When Kevorkian went away to prison, his vision did not leave with him. Other doctors were assisting in death. Kevorkian once said "its unstoppable." Referring to assisted suicide. Some cities or states showed public support for ssisted suicide."cited poles showing public support"(La Times) Assisted suicide had seem to have been growing on people. Assisted suicide has grew so much that Oregon has made it legal in there state.
