Unfortunately, slowly but surely there were warning signs that things would not last. Construction, production, and sales slowed and decreased and there were actually times when stocks went up and down, and were called "mini-crashes".

The morning of the crash, October 29th, 1929, was indeed a crash. Stock prices plummeted like there was barely a bottom to hit. Many people were selling their stocks and when they seen their numbers for the outcome, devastation hit. There were even rumors of people committing suicide. Some had invested their life savings into the stock market, and now they had barely anything.

After that day, things of almost every aspect went south. Unemployment went from 5 million to an astounding 13 million from only 1930 to 1932. Young girls and boys worked in factories to help support their families. Some even dropped out..hat had the money to invest in stocks, did.
