How BAE Adapted To Customs In The U.S.

BAE Systems is a global company, 88,700 talented people make up BAE Systems in

Australia, India, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the United Kingdom and the United States. The

company was formed in the United Kingdom as a statutory corporation in 1977 as a result of the

Aircraft and Shipbuilding Industries Act. This call for the nationalization and merger of the

British Aircraft Corporation, Hawker Siddeley Aviation, Hawker Siddeley Dynamics and

Scottish Aviation. BAE Systems home market strategy builds important local skill and

impression, often through mutually beneficial partnerships with investment in local businesses

and the sharing of skills and technologies, providing supportable employment for local people.

While working at BAE, I learned from working with suppliers from other countries. There

were language barriers while working with suppliers, I adapted to each supplier needs and I

begin to understand their work behaviors and was able to shift my working style to become

similar to one another.

BAE Systems is a major subsidiary of the British defense and aerospace company. BAE

Systems expansion in the US is the largest defense market, US investment in research and

development is much higher than in Western Europe. When Dick Oliver was appointed

Chairman in July 2004 he ordered a review of the company's business and ruled out further

European acquisitions and joint ventures and set a "strategic bias" for expansion and investment

Competing in the twenty-first century allowed Dick Oliver to use his managerial skills to

perform in a multicultural environment. (Deresky: 31) He had international expertise to manage

and process cultural savvy and he had knowledge in this area for managing other countries and

knew the important of cultural intelligence. (Deresky: 93). This firm has engaged in foreign

direct investment. Doing business around the globe requires intimate knowledge about both

formal (laws), and informal (value) that governs competition in various countries. The chairman

choose not to limit the company to just his home country. He treated the entire global economy

as his potential forecourt. Overall the focus of BAE performance around the globe defines the

field of global business more than anything else. ( Peng: 14) Why is it the transition easier for

overseas companies to start-up business in the U.S.?

BAE Systems Inc. operates as a semi-autonomous business unit within BAE Systems

controlled at a local level by American management. I worked at one of the facilities in Mojave,

CA. I choose this company because of its diversity and how understanding of the local cultures

and business environment give this company and its management an advantage in competitive

industries. (Deresky: 93) BAE Systems treats their employees well as individuals. And good

managers mission and values at BAE Systems, "protecting those who protect us" is more than a

motto as the technology it produces saves lives. "Our first mission is to take care of our

customers - the young men and women who serve in the military," says Michael Heffron,

president of BAE Systems Electronics, Support & Intelligence operating group. (December 1,

2008 Cohen, Erika, Mowry, Matthew J.) BAE Systems, a responsible leader service the social

growth, servicing the public through partnerships and with customers, governments, local

communities and other stakeholder in order to provide economic and social growth. (Deresky:
