1. What benefits come from having both women and men in the group?
The benefit from having both men and women is a group is they both bring something different which make the group whole. Women and men don't necessarily have the same approach to tackling a task, and the different approaches create a nice balance that causes the group to make good decisions. These challenges cause us to miss out on opportunities in our career. In some cases, these challenges turn into bad working relationship and some cases law suits.
5. What would you recommend that the participants do differently (both women and men) to increase the effectiveness of the group?
I would recommend that both genders take the time to motivate each other. Research has shown that employees who feel motivated to work are likely to be persistent, creative and productive which in turn creates high quality work for the workplace. This would make everyone's job less complicated and more enjoyable.
6. Based on this case study, what two to four actions will you take to strengthen your effectiveness in a mixed-sex work situation?
