CRITICAL ANALYSIS OF FALLACIES

The analysis on fallacies in arguments is based on the articles dated 31 May 2012 entitled the benefit of eating chocolate, benefit of eating dark chocolate and chocolate and daily life. The writer's expresses on his view on the issue about the benefit of the chocolate and seems to agree and support the issue stated.

The articles contain numerous fallacies and flawed arguments. Among them is appeal to popular opinion. The first type of fallacies show in article benefits of eating dark chocolate in paragraph 4 from the statement "the experts say that eating chocolate that contain caffeine can control appetite and can increase level of metabolism in human body". This is because the experts convincing readers that eating chocolate can control someone appetite to diet by eating this chocolate also it can encourage metabolism of the body.

The second fallacies are missing the point and it can be seen in the paragraph 4 from the statement "research comparing chocolate, dark chocolate is more effective in reducing people's desire for sweet, salty and fatty food". Why this statement is called missing the point because the statement doesn't show the characteristic of the chocolate and dark chocolate and the research just make a conclusion that dark chocolate is more better than normal chocolate to reduce the community desire in for sweet food.

The third fallacies are appeal to crowd and it can be seen in the article Chocolate and daily life in the paragraph 2 from the statement "all chocolate manufactures like Valnora Chocolates nearly producing a healthy chocolate and that's why community enjoy it without any anxious feeling about their health". This is statement show this type of fallacy because by having this chocolate it can develop a habit by replaced cigarettes for the smoker.

The fourth fallacies are weak analogy and it can be seen at article Chocolate and daily life in the paragraph 4 from the statement "cocoa has the capacity to make more active and do not have a effect as the contain of cigarettes have". This is show when the writers show poor comparisons between two things and do not show the contain of cocoa and the effects of the tobacco.

The last fallacy are slippery slopes and it can be seen at article the health benefits of chocolate in the paragraph 8 from the statement "great dark chocolate bar might have ten to fifteen grams of sugar, which is still less that 22 grams in your glass of fresh orange drink". This is show because even the chocolate have a lot of benefit to the health it is also have some side effects that the researches show that the sugar contain in the dark chocolate bar is more higher than the orange drink.
