The body has much protection but one big thing that helps protect the inside is your skin. Sometimes the skin is damaged and needs to be treated immediate based on the injury. There are many big things that may injure a person but two that most people don't think about right away are a Burn, which is an injury caused by exposure to heat and flame and cancer of the skin. Some tragic situations result in different types of burns and cancers.

Burns are classified by three different degrees. The amount of damage is also very critical in treating the injury. There are 3 different classifications of burns. There is 1st degree burn. This type of burn will damage the epithelium layer of the skin. You can get this by hot water burn for instance or lightly burning your finger on something hot. A 2nd degree burn will damage the epithelium and maybe even the dermis. The 3rd type of burn will damage the epithelium, dermis, and maybe even the bone and muscle. This is the worst because with this type of burn you can become dehydrated very easily. You also have a higher risk of getting an infection.

A first degree burn can be cured by if the skin is not broken. The burn area should be ran under cold water and soaked in cool water. A clean cold compress should work just fine with no further treatment. With a 2nd degree burn the clothing that was burned if there was any, should not be removed. The burn should be covered with a wet bandage or cloth. If it's a big burn then a large sheet will work as well. If you happen to get a blister you must not break them because they will then get worse or might even get infected. If toes and fingers are burned they should be separated with something dry. With a 3rd degree burn you should immediately see a hospital. They will then treat the damage that is done. In some cases they might graft some skin from another part of your body to replace the burned skin.

The rule of nines is a quick way to assessing the area of the body covered by burns in order to help them know the amount of fluid and treatment that should be given to a patient. The body is divided into areas of skin comprising approximately 9% each of the total body surface. the Head/neck - 9%, each arm is 9%, anterior thorax is 18%, the posterior thorax is 18%, each leg is 18%, and the perineum is 1%.

Basal cell carcinoma is the most common form of skin cancer. It also is the most common cancer in the world. The reason for this rise might be that people are receiving more unprotected exposure to the harmful ultraviolet rays. There are many different ways to treat this type of skin cancer. There are many surgical and non-surgical ways as well. One is a simple surgical excision. This is when a doctor will cut out the tumor. A doctor may also cut or scrap the tumor and burn the base of the tumor with an electric needle. A tumor can also be frozen.

Squamous cell carcinoma is the second most common type of skin cancer. Together
