Biological Distinction Between Male and Female

Starting from the time of my birth, 25th November 1990, (socialization) had been on the go in giving meanings to my life. It started with (ascribed status) that I was attributed to immediately after I was out of my mother's womb. It was found out that my (sex), biological distinction between male and female, was male. (Gender roles) took effect immediately starting with dictation of how I was to be dressed, how was going to be raised including what toys I was to play with and even how I was expected to behave when I grew up. The standards of our society on how a male member carries himself were clear to everyone and my parents were eager to introduce me to the society.
Born into a family of five, a third born but first born boy, everyone one in my family played a role in helping me through life and thus determining how I will conduct myself in the future. They though me manners, moral values beliefs and overall desirable personality that our society considers very important for a successful person. (Norms) that is, rules and regulation by which a society guides the behavior of its members were not left behind instead they were reinforced by pointing out the consequences that one will face if they broke them. Majority of these teachings was taught by my father because according to our society, a boy was to behave like his father. They go by the saying, "like father like son".
At the age of five I joined elementary school and my social world was extended from my family members to totally new people, teachers and my schoolmates. It was quite a new environment to be in and I was quiet for the first week but my teachers encouraged me to play with my class mates and to feel at home. During breaks and games time, we were gathered in playgroups, boys and girls were separated and our teacher taught us how to play soccer. For the first four years of school, my parents used to wake us up, me and my elder sister at 7.am to prepare us for school, we could catch a bus to school and back in the evening. After I was done with homework in the evening, my father and I watched TV, most of the time sport channels while my sisters were in kitchen listening to radio while our mom was cooking dinner. It was during that time of watching various sports that my love for running began and I changed everything. I told my parents that I wanted to start practicing as a runner and they both agreed. Bus ride came to a stop because I started to run to school in the mornings and run back home in the evening with my (peer group) which included three boys and one girl all in my class. We could cover a distance of six miles a day and that was a good mileage for upcoming athletes like us.
Years went by so fast and I graduated with academic results good enough to earn me a merit scholarship to National high school but I decided to took another path, follow my athletic career. In Kenya, schools offering athletic scholarship are provisional school
