The author utilizes personification and imagery in order to enliven his story and to illustrate the life changing experiences that come along with fighting through adversity. The author utilized personification throughout the story in order to spice up his writing as for example, he wrote "I was in the "pits," in the elbow of a dishwashing machine that mostly moaned and groaned as it trudges along" which conveys to the reader about the poor working environment that he had to put up with. In addition he gave the dishwasher human-like qualities, saying that the dishes were "sweating", in order to explain how brutally hot his working environment was. The author also managed to enliven his writing by implementing passages of detailed imagery. The author artfully wrote" it was as if the spirits whispered my name to the manager just as the big hand of the steam release struck me in the face and made me so nauseated that my knees wobbled," in order to build credibility with the reader that he went through some brutal adversity on the job. By doing so, the author is able to convey the message of how the adversity he dealt with on the job was a positive life changing experience. Through the use of personification and imagery, the author was able to spice up his story and better explain how difficult experiences can result in a positive outcome. and be like like like like like like i i i i i i i i i i i i and are you oh why
