Conceptualizing a Business
My conceptual business plan will provide the premeditated strategy for Debrah Adult Enrichment Center. The love I have for the elderly gave the idea to open an adult enrichment center that will set itself apart from other organization in the same market. Research found that adult daycare centers have increased since the early 1970s and in the United States along, and there is approximately 4,000 centers. Adult daycare centers relieve the caregiver from his or her responsibilities during the day while ensuring that the family member will receive the appropriate care in a safe, friendly atmosphere. Generally, there are three kinds of adult daycare centers, those with the primary focus on social communications, those that provide health care, and those committed to Dementia's care. The average individual in this program age is the mid-70s and a female who lives with a husband, children, other family members or friends. Approximately half of these individuals have some form of mental impairment and the other half requires assistance with two or more day-to-day living activities.
As a business owner I will need to know and understand what a strategic plan is and what it consists of. Strategic planning is the procedure for defining my business long-term goals and distinguishing the superlative methods for achieving those goals (Investorword.com", 2011). A sound conceptual strategic business plan that will determine if the business is a success or not will consist of the following:
Serve as the basis for securing a grant or approval
Detailed planning
Explaining the business to others to enlighten, motivate, and involved them in the business decisions.
Performance monitoring
Building block for the next stage
Debrah's Adult Enrichment Center requires a conceptual strategic the preparation of a multi-step process that will included the mission, vision objectives, values, strategies, goals and programs ("Planware", 1999-2011).
According to Pearce and Robinson (2009), "a company mission is the unique purpose that sets a company apart from others of its type and identifies the scope of its operations. The mission statement describes the company product, market, and technological areas of emphasis in a way that reflects the values and priorities of the strategic decision makers" (p. 11).
