I regard myself as an exploring individual. With my strong interest in financial territory, I have a clear plan for my career path. Currently, because of my increasing GPA (3.7, 3.8 and 3.94 in recent semesters), I have gained a basic academic foundation of financial world relying on the high-quality undergraduate program and I determine to take my study pathway to the next level by pursuing a postgraduate degree in a more forward-looking and free-minded community. And your program is where I am strongly longing for. Or rather, I particularly wish to be equipped with more advanced all-round knowledge and skills based on a sound structure, which will has great beneficial effects on my forthcoming academic or professional road. The short-term career plan is to be a postgraduate student in Finance after graduation. This can also be called the preparation stage. More basic knowledge about Finance will provide a solid support for my future career. Then I want to get involved in relevant practice in USA during the postgraduate learning process. I do not have specific requirements about the practice as my only hope is to get a unique experience in my life. As for my long-term goal, I plan to get a decent job and become more professional by putting what I have leaned into practice for the period after finishing my master degree at Northeastern. Through the research work I have done about Northeastern, I choose here as the place to prepare myself because I am attracted to the campus culture and education environment. Being part of the Northeastern community would be the most precious memory in my life. I believe that the financial courses provided here will broaden my horizon. In addition, as an Asian student, it is a good opportunity for me to learn the difference in the theory of Finance between the West and the East. Both the knowledge that I will learn at Northeastern and the opportunity of experiencing the difference between different cultures will be of great help for me to get a decent job. I believe a high-quality postgraduate degree will be the stepping-stone to the fulfillment of my long-term career objective. Of course, I have the confidence and faith to prove my value to Pepperdine as well as bring a different culture to the campus.
This semester I have faced the biggest challenge for I have to prepare the GMAT examination and apply for the trans-disciplinary post-graduate studies in the United States. At the same time, I cannot slip of my major and my internship in consulting center. Moreover, there are three advanced professional courses that we study together with the postgraduate students. This is a big challenge for me. I have to find a good balance of these three things and it is painful when everything is uncertain. To handle this situation, I told myself at the beginning of this semester that I would have to give up my beloved dance club temporarily. I made a strict plan: get up at six o’clock every morning and go to sleep at two o’clock. I need to have enough time and high efficiency to study while keeping plenty of energy. I divided everyday into different parts and make sure that I set aside enough time for each part. Even though I was worn out for the intense study, everything was on the right track. However, nothing is perfect. Sometimes I got stuck with my study and I had to stay up all night to finish the assignments. Thanks to the optimism and exercise, I managed to adjust myself in time. With the consist efforts, my GMAT got a satisfactory point, the preparation for application works well and I have smoothly accomplished the internship projects. This experience teaches me how to manage my time and hold my life. I finally realize that life and future are in my own hands is not just empty talk. I believe this highlights my further direction if I have the chance to access to the Northeastern University. No matter what kinds of difficulties will appear in the future study process, I have the confidence to handle it and make it under my knees.
