Camping can be a lot of fun if you know the right camping gear to bring. You cannot walk out of your house and go on a camping trip without planning ahead. Here are many items you need to pack before stepping out into the wild. Items you need to remember are shelter, medical items as well as personal items, clothing and utilities.
Prior to getting any camping gear together you need to figure out where you will be camping. Once you know where you are going to be staying, you need a list together of gear you will need to pack. One to two weeks before the trip, check the list of supplies to make sure everything is in good condition. If not, there is plenty of time to go out and get the supplies needed.
The main item that you need is a tent, once you have your tent you need a foam pad or an air mattress for the tent floor. You do not have to have a foam pad or an air mattress, it makes it more comfortable than sleeping on the hard ground. If you are bringing an air mattress, make sure you remember to pack the air pump. You also need to bring your bedding, such as a sleeping bag. In case it gets chilly at night remember to bring extra blankets.
The next item you will need are your medical items. Sun block is extremely important to remember. You should also pack a first aid kit that includes items for bee stings, spider bites, snake bites, and lots of Band-Aids. You need to make sure that you pack bug spray. Make sure you remember to pack the basics such as: soap, toothpaste, toothbrush, hairbrush, lotion, and any other products that you use in your daily routine. You might not have the nice indoor shower you have every day, but that is one of the adventures of camping. You should remember the toilet paper. Not all campgrounds have great toilet paper. They might be out, or you might be in the woods and need it. Towels are something you need to pack as well, you need them after you wash off and if you are planning on going swimming.
Depending on the weather, you need to pack different types of clothes. Even if it is in the middle of July, you should always pack some warmer clothes due to the fact that it can get chilly at night. You should pack pajamas, a sweatshirt, jeans, shorts, tee-shirts, walking shoes/hiking boots, socks, bathing suits, and sunglasses.
Here are many other items that you will need. Unless you want to sit in the dark at night, you will need to remember a flashlight or lantern.
