1. What challenges to employee recruiting, retention, and career management will your company face in Switzerland?

As a foreign company and the company relies on external labor, there would be various challenges my company might face.

First of all, when it comes to employee recruiting, that would be a challenge. According to a report that the Swiss Employer Association released, "companies to do everything they can to allow women to combine career and family through flexible working hours and support for childcare centers," which means we have obligation to recruiting Swiss women and support them. Also, they mentions that Swiss are adjusting new situation that from the man work and the wife stays at home to they both work, and it only starts few years ago. Therefore, women work force is not really mature in Switzerland. However, my company is innovated and depends on external labor which means we need the "free agent", employees have innovation, experience and is professional. But Swiss women labor are not quite qualified.

Second, the employee retention is also difficult. Because as the employer from Swiss Employers Association mentions, "some 60 percent of women temporarily leave the workforce after the birth of their second child," it is hard to have a steady women workforce.

Last, since the employee retention it self is a challenge, career management becomes more difficult. According to Figure 10.1 form the text book, for free agent, the company should focus on development to attract employees from external labor market and developing skills needed for high-level service and innovation.
