"Institute for Innovation and Improvement" is boasted by the NHS, but is this really what the current Leadership styles portray. The NHS has changed in many ways over the past years. The focus has changed, the drive has changed and most of all, the leaders have changed, but in a bit to meet the new financial demands are we forgetting what the long term goals really are. Clinical Leadership might not be the background of my experience, however as the Chairman of the Faculty of Medical Leadership and Management quoted "All Doctors have leadership roles both within their team and with their patients" the NHS is the fountain of Leadership, in everyway and form possible, which makes it more important to get it right.
The challenges that the NHS come across in the past few years, has lead to many downfalls, both in the within the staff members and public, this in turn has led to low morale, trust and dedication. This shows a change is required, a more comprehensive approach, understanding and as adaptive leading, which will fix what has been undone, thus allowing the NHS to have a fresh start.
