Reason why the, drinking age should be lowered. And the reason why it should, change to

eighteen again in the state of Illinois.

In the years after prohibition has ended, in the United States the drinking age of alcohol was eighteen. In order to purchase, alcohol the stores, and bars. After the 1930's Illinois among other thirty stats, had the drinking age requirement was twenty-one. And most states stayed consisted until 1969 to 1976. Back then thirty states lowered the drinking age back to eighteen. Women who lived in Illinois had to be eighteen, to drink and man had to be eighteen as well. In the 70's more people in Illinois were free spirited and because of that people were a bit irresponsible. The drug usage and drinking made, people act worse than they actually were. Some people turned too alcohol for fun and others to deal whit problems. To combat the problem of drinking whit young men and women in Illinois during the 70's and early 80's people

did not think they just acted out, and alcohol was the scape goat. After 1984 the federal government battled the DUI's deaths in the US because of the, Ronald Reagan whit the help of congress, they passed a federal law that says you need to be twenty one, in order to drink alcohol or buy alcohol. Because of the increasing on the drinking , the underage drinking more crimes like fighting and manslaughter. The deaths and underage drinking went up 35 % higher, for the next twenty years in Illinois alone.

The reason for that it is because when someone forbids something, it from other person doing something, they will do it any ways. In a article written by a student in Florida Sate University. That said most under age college, students they will drink three times , more then people who are in there twenty's or thirty's. In the 1990's and early 2000's there was more then,65% were drinking alcohol. And cities like Chicago IL or Joliet IL had more, underage drinking then the east coast states or southern states. There are some befits of lowering the age, for the state of Illinois. If the state dose this more, jobs will be able form. Jobs like truck delivery or liquor store owner. This according to a doctor in England , who pushed, lower the drinking age to sixteen. He said '' drinking is part of the culture in Europe and US''. If we prevent from, doing something ''these children. Will find way to do it, it's better to control while we can.'' In (NHTSA) study revealed that 19% of teen drink driving has dropped. That is the problem because of the number of underage drinking has increased. But DUI stat has dropped for young people. Compared to people who are in the age group, of 21 to 30 it has risen more than 15 %
