Christmas Day
On Christmas, we celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior, and then we visit among family and friends and exchange gifts. Our Christmas started off with everyone getting up around eight in the morning. My granddaughter, Jamyla wanted to start opening gifts immediately. She was so excited and so was I. I think I was more excited than she was, and she had the most gifts. I really enjoyed watching her open every gift. When she opened her train set she said, "Oh my and screamed...this is just what I wanted". I was so happy to see her enjoy herself.
After we finished opening all of our gifts, I went into the kitchen and made us all some pancakes and sausage. Jamyla always asks for my pancakes. She says, "Mom Mom, you make the best pancakes". I told her, "Thank you, I am glad you enjoy them".
After we finished our breakfast, we went upstairs to get dressed for Church. We had a special program for the children at ten in the morning. Jamyla was a praise dancer in the program and she did a really good job. I was so proud of her.
Church was over, so we went home and changed clothes to get ready for our trip to Dover Delaware. We have a lot of family and friend in Dover.

We arrived in Dover, Delaware around four in the afternoon. First, we stopped at my daughter, Kym's house and dropped off some gifts for my other three grandchildren. I enjoyed watching them open their gifts also. I stopped in on a few more people and then made my way to my Uncle Clifton's house, because that is where the food was. It was nice being with all my family and exchanging more gifts. The only sad thing was that my mother, Sonja was not there. This is the first Christmas we were without her, and there was definitely a void there.
