When I first heard the words "we are going to be playing the game Civilization" I just knew I was about to lose or fail knowing I had to play this game for thirty minutes, which by the way can seem like a life time. Never had I heard of this game, but I was prepared for anything. When we started playing the game my whole thought changed, I learned the game wasn't so bad after you get the hang of it. I felt better when it came to Friday and we had to play. In Civilization you become or are the ruler of cities in that you find or develop. There weren't enough CD games to go around so I partnered up with Asia Bowman and we made decisions together on how to develop our country. In the game we were George Washington, ruling over the United States. As rulers we decided to stay out of war with other countries because our foundation or military was not strong enough for war, and for us to go to war would have been a complete over take and disaster of our foundation. By doing this it let our civilization grow in progress and develop. We also decided to expand the borders of our civilization by adding more cities that had farming, mining, and a stronger military that helped us gain complete domination, which I was surprised by because we didn't have to go to war to do this. If I had been playing the game by myself I would have went to war not thinking about any of the factors I just explained above, which would have lead my civilization in a complete downfall and disaster like I said earlier. Expanding our civilization and staying out of war helped us become one of the most developed cities in the game, giving us the lead.

During the game some of our people became sick because of the lack of food and resources. So we tried trading with some of the other rules, but none of the trades were benefiting to us. All of the rulers wanted us to open our boarders to them, for their resources. We had to think and make a big decision on weather or not we should open our boarders. Opening our boarders meant that the other rulers would have the opportunity to over take our community, and no resources they had was worth it. So we searched for grounds we could build a farm on. Building a community or foundation is extremely hard in my eyes because there are so many decisions you have to make that could make or break the community, you are also making a decision for all the people who live in that city and depend on you. So I believe the choice me made was a good one. We ended up finding resources that helped produce more food and medicine to help the people get better. As the game went on we continued to stay focused on building and expanding our community by staying out of war. By the end of the game we were able to got fist place out of all the other rulers in the game.
