Abstract

A full discussion of a project plan and structure is discussed using a case study of company who specialised in manufacturing and supply of bathrooms fittings. THE Breakdown in the organisational structure is a big challenge in project management. The obstacles that exist in getting different departments and project framework to harness together are discussed. Framework which employs networks of plans was used to address the challenges being face by the organisation in order to get the engineering team and marketing team to function well in achieving a common goal.

Introduction

The main goal of a project planning is to develop work plan that is realistic and achievable. There is no point having a set of plan that will not work or lead to next stage of plan. Project work plans need resources to achieve the set of goals. People are one of the key resources needed to carry out all the plans. Structure Instrument has to be in place to harness all the resources needed to achieve set of goals with time. like the old saying goes " time is money" time loss can never be retrieved and such loss can never be quantify, but effect of time loss reflect on the project.

Time and resources are crucial to any success of a project management. Resources management require a layout of well structured events that need to happen for the project plans to come to reality. Time and resource which form the basis of a good project management needs activities that will be in chronological order.

The project work plan could be used to predict the situation of project during its lifecycle and enables the control of its progress .Activities and network base planning is essential ingredient in any successful project.

From the case study of Clark and company, the growth in the company has established her as the third largest supplier of bathroom fittings. Growth can only be sustained with development and new way of thinking and doing things.

If the Clark and company fail to address the rivalry betwee n departments, then the growth can be shorlived

CRITICAL ISSUES

The main concern in project management and organisation structure of clark and company is the people, it is the people that has hitherto been the driving force of its growth. The critical issues are:

* Lack of shared values

* No team work and connectivity of departmental operation.
