Classmate Interview Essay

"Peace and friendship with all mankind is our wisest policy, and I wish we may be permitted to pursue it". The mission behind this quote should be to instill a feeling of nostalgia, and desire towards the acceptance of others and embracing new cultures and all in all admitting. This allows me to introduce a very interesting individual I've recently acquainted with. His name is Wensly. Cherisca. A native of Saint Mark, Haiti Cherisca has accomplished a plethora of conquest in his short amount of time in the U.S. Cherisca like most individuals has aspirations of travel, and not to mention interesting goals in life. Not to describe him as superhuman, he also has fears and passions. Coincidently after interviewing Cherisca I learned that we have a lot in common and I admire a lot about him.

Simultaneously, Wensly Chernisca as mention previously has aspirations, such as an occupation in Business Administration so he can own his own business eventually. I admired Chernisca for this simply because I've always wanted to have my own business and be my own boss earlier in my childhood. And for him to have the adept mind set shows that he is determined and driven to accomplish this goal he has set for himself, and personally that inspires me to go after my goals I set in my life more avidly and fervently. To come from a poverty- stricken country that has endured so much within his time and have such high expectations of himself and such high aspirations for himself at that really speaks volume of Wensly Chernisca.

In addition, having lived in both Haiti and the U.S, Chernisca loves to travel and if he could live anywhere in the world he would want to live in his native country Haiti, because he loves his culture and feels homesick occasionally. Haiti is one of the nation's poorest countries, and is extremely poverty-stricken, but even though Haiti might not be the most lavish place to live Chernisca states "This is where I call home, and this is my foundation regardless". With such a proactive attitude and such a positive attitude I admire him for not allowing where he is from to define him as an individual. More on, out of all of the places in the world he could travel to choose his native country is commendable and shows self-pride.

In summation, after having the privilege of meeting Wensly. Chernisca I can say that this experience has brought me a since of appreciation of Haiti and has showed me that it's not about where you come from but how you further your future and provide purpose in your endeavors. To conclude, we all have been afraid or skeptical of meeting new people, but just understand that you never know when your passing up the opportunity of encountering a great person just because of they're exterior. Meeting new people is similar to reading a book. At first you may look at the cover, read the author synopsis
