The Cold war was fought through a competition for power, arms race and Military alliances. On either side of the Iron Curtain, states developed their own international, economic, and military alliances. As stated in document 1 Winston Churchill's iron curtain is a dividing line. This Means That the iron curtain went across Germany behind the line was the capital of ancient states of central and eastern Europe. This is important because The Iron Curtain strengthened its positions during the Cold War. It became the border, which constructed the bipolar structure of the world politics.
On March 12 1947 President Truman made a speech to congress. "Should we fail to aid Greece Turkey in this fateful hour, the effect will be far-reaching to the West" This means that Truman is to give Greece, Turkey or any county that is under the urges of filling to communism. This is important because Truman wanted to put a stop to hunger, Poverty, desperation and chaos as stated in document 3.

Both super powers developed technology and used their nuclear power build up as many weapons as possible, by nuclear build up. Superpowers developed technology and used their nuclear power to build as many as possible. The arms race had a huge impact on the world. This means that technology and nuclear power build up and caused the balance of powers as stated in document 7. The Treat of nuclear war was obvious in the Cuban missile crisis of 1962. This Means that President Kennedy demands that the missiles will be removed from Cuba because it was a threat to the peace and security of all the Americans as stated in document 8.
