There are numerous amount of strategies agency use to stop crime among the best is Community Policing because it also involves the help from the people of the community. One way of assuring the agency is carrying out what is stated in their mission statement is by interacting with the people and creating different programs that will benefit the people. For example, one of the most popular community policing programs that most neighborhood have is a program called neighborhood watch. This means that all people living in that particular neighborhood have agrees and taken a vow to look out for one another. The people of the community have come to an agreement that if they see something suspicious they will immediately report it to the police. This is one form of community policing, which allows people to feel safer about their communities and not have to worry so much when they're not home. These programs also benefit the police agency in the community because such community that do participate in the neighborhood watch program allows the police officers to focus more on other area of the community that need more policing.
Policing can be very difficult at times because sometimes there are just not enough officers, or just the fact that people don't report half of the crimes they witness, but when they do agency try to address the conflict in the best way possible. For instance, when people report that there is an intersection in the community where drivers don't respect the stop signs and do not give pedestrians and opportunity to cross without risking being hit by a driver the agency might use a policing tactic named S.A.R.A. which stands for Scanning, Analysis, Response, and Asses. What officers will do at the particular location of the complaint is they will begin by observing the location to see if there is an outrage of people running the stop sign. After observing the location of the people running the stop sign they will analyze the times people ran the stop sign the most. Then they will respond by assessing the intersection with some john does to cross at the intersections along with unmarked cars and then create a bait to catch and cite the people who are running the stop sign and not taking into consider the danger that they are putting pedestrian in. This is one way of fulfilling the mission statement of the police agency of the community because they are making sure the people are being protected are the laws are being enforced by giving out citation to those driver who are putting people live endanger.
There plenty of different forms and methods of community policing but among them statistics show that the most efficient are the use of Neighborhood watch programs and the use of S.A.R.A. because it helps keep community the safest with the help from the people and
