Comparing and contrasting. The leaders and the brave. Okonkwo and Cinque share a lot of similarities in their traits. Okonkwo and Cinque both share the trait of bravery because of their actions. Okonkwo and Cinque also share the trait of being leaders for their tribes and their people. Another common trait they share is being fierce. Also they both have the trait of being religious for their beliefs and customs. Here are some examples of them having these traits.

First of all, Okonkwo showed the trait of bravery when he was willing to fight for his customs and beliefs. Like the time he was willing to go to war because the white man had taken control of most of their village. Cinque had shown the trait bravery when he had led the revolt for his people. Another instance where Cinque had shown this trait is when he saw his people get whipped until they were bleeding and blood splattered on his face and he did not shed a tear.

Also, Okonkwo and Cinque both share the trait of being a leader. Okonkwo displays this around the beginning of the story when he is allowed to sit with the leaders of Umoufia. He was also showing this trait when he was invited to a meeting of the District Commissioner and the other 5 leaders of Umoufia. Cinque had shown this trait of leadership when his people treated him like he was a leader for killing a lion with a rock. He was also showing this trait when he lead the revolt.

One thing you should have known about Okonkwo & Cinque is that they both where religious. Okonkwo was religious because when he had disobeyed his village customs he had to make sacrifices. When he beat his wife on the Week of Peace he had to sacrifice animals, money and other things. Cinque was religious because when one of his people died the almost started a riot just because they were not allowed to grieve in their customs.

Okonkwo and Cinque share many similarities. Those were just a few of the many they had. They both both were brave, religious and the both had the traits of being leaders. This is why I compared these two characters and their traits. If you are like me and are comparing these two characters make sure you use some of their many traits like I did.
