Competence

Journal #3

I believe that all businesses have access to an extensive pool of knowledge, whether this is their understanding of customers’ needs and the business environment or the skills and experience of staff. The knowledge I’m approaching to learn is new products and services and coming up with new ways of selling them. My experience has become better in ways I make a conversation with a client. There are some knowledges that I have learned but also want to make myself educated in them; which are customer knowledge, employee and supplier relationships, and market knowledge. The business environment is the way that teaches me how to be good at work.

The appropriate clothing for business varies widely. Proper dress depends on what level of position. For example, my supervisor is supposed to wear business suit and tie. He might not need to when he is at the office because most of the job is done through phone calls, but he should wear professional clothing when he attends meetings. As I don’t attend any meetings nor interviews, I don’t have to “dress to impress” but it wouldn’t be nice to go with a jeans and wear inappropriate cloths. I wear black pants, shirt, watch, and black shoes. An individual who wishes to be taken seriously in the work place must dress appropriately for his/her environment.

It makes me feel good about myself. When I know something thoroughly, I’m confident about the knowledge of the products and services and the experience I’m learning. I feel a personal sense of satisfaction especially when I’m appreciated at the Internship because of efforts and performance. Learning and knowledge provides me with a career. The experience I gain from Arcutek opens many doors and provides me with opportunities that can get me set for life. Being confident in what you learn makes you different than other people that don’t seek to learn and succeed in life.

Yes! I do respect the ethics and integrity of Arcutek. Every organization has its own or different ethics and integrities. As management is great and are there to help you learn with what is right and wrong. People tend to make mistakes which can be fixed, but employees are not supposed to violate the organization’s moral principles where they are supposed to work together as a team to achieve the company’s goal. It is always beneficial to nurture new relationships. The relationships I have made at Arcutek will help me find a path to future where I can benefit from learning new products and services, and the most important, communicating with customers.
