"The gods must be crazy II" is a great movie that shows the Bushmen simple life (primitive society) in contrast with civilized societies (Western culture). The film is a collision of four separate stories: the journey of a Bushmen to find his lost kids, two elephant poachers traveling in a truck on which Xixo's children are stuck, a man and a woman lost in the desert, two soldiers fighting each other. The movie tells the story of Xixo (Xi), a Sho of the Kalahari Desert whose tribe has no knowledge of the world beyond. They are unaware of the crowded and hectic world outside their domains.

Xi and his tribe lived happily in the Kalahari Desert because the Gods provided plenty of everything and no one in the tribe has unfulfilled wants. The Bushmen are the only people who know how to live without surface water. They work and play in peaceful isolation, ignorant of issues and wars not far from them. They used to read daily news from the prints on the sand, because everything that happens in the Kalahari Desert was printed in the sand (animals' footprints...). Communication is a major problem in the Kalahari Desert; Bushmen do not possess technologies like radios and cell phones, they communicate using direct contact (face to face). Undisturbed for twenty thousand years, the Bushmen lived in complete harmony with their environment; nature and animals. According to the movie, when Xi found the injured elephant, he knew that it is impossible to save him so he called the other family to share the wealth with his family by eating the elephant. They knew how to scare the Hyena because according to the movie Xi said to his younger son that if he were taller than his bow then the Hyena would be scared from him. For that reason when the boy was alone with the Hyena, he held a piece of wood to make himself taller to keep the Hyena away. Therefore, the Bushmen are fast learners; they analyze things with logic and wisdom. They listen carefully to the words of their chief because he has wisdom that he built by experiences. Here we can separate the difference between wisdom and knowledge. Knowledge is something you learn or read about and this is a civilized quality. The Bushmen share everything; food, Work... they are friendly and respect others. They think that people who do not understand them are illiterate. When Xi tells stories about his experiences in the civilized world, he speaks about heavy people who seem to know some magic that makes things move and fly, but he say they are not bright because they cannot survive without this magic.

On the other hand, civilized society is much more complicated; people seem to have some sort of anger issues, violence, and hate, towards others, and
