Courage in a human being is having the quality of mind or spirit that enables a person to face difficult obstacles, dangerous paths, or even standing up for being yourself or what you believe. John F. Kennedy brought to life what we would have never know about the different types of political figures and how even their failures showed how courageous they were. John Quincy Adams and Edmund G. Ross were among the figures that showed courage in unique ways and broke down barriers for many.
John Quincy Adams was a senator from Massachusetts who overcame many barriers while in office. He graduated from Hartford University with a bachelors and master degree and became a lawyer. He was a Federalist. Years after being elected to the senate he was named the Minister to Russia. While being in office the Federalists party turned their back on Adams because he voted no to a bill and made an important decision that concerned his country. The decision would later benefit and help his country out. When Adams made his decision, his country disliked him for it and was not too fascinated with him. After his one term of presidency was over, Adams returned to his private life but was not satisfy with his accomplishments. America praised Adams when they realized what he did was for the good of the country but Adams felt all his accomplishments were failures. John Adams collapsed and died later.
"In a lonely grave, forgotten and unknown, lies the man who saved a president". Edmund G. Ross was a senator from Kansas who saved President Andrew Jackson from impeachment. When Ross came to senate the two branches of government were all ready at each other's throat. A law was established without the support of Presidents Jackson. In the heat of political battle their vengeance was turned upon their president far more than their former military enemies of the south. He reached a climax when he came to the verdict of not guilty while others did not like his decision. Only two days before the vote was taking he was confined to the bed.
John F. Kennedy was born in Massachusetts on May 29 1917. He had seven other siblings. He graduated from Harvard in 1940. He enter the navy where his PT boat was rammed and sunk by a Japanese destroyer. Kennedy had injuries led the survivors through water to safely. He became a Congressman from Boston and then to the Senate. Kennedy was the first Roman Catholic president. On November 22, 1963, when he was hardly past his first thousand days in office, John F. Kennedy was killed by an assassin.. Kennedy was the youngest man elected President; he was the youngest to die.
In my life there is one special person that identifies leadership and that person is my mother, Monica D. Hollaway. My mother has showed me the way since day one. She took care of her family and is sometimes overbearing but is genuine and a good leader. Any task you give her she will complete it and will not be afraid to ask for
