Credible Sources
I think that the sources I chose to use were very reliable and relevant. The author talked about exactly what I needed him to talk about. The author talked about taking responsibility into account when being a father and having a career at the same time. The author also talked about men that have trouble in our poor economic times may be more prone to have kids so that they feel a certain since of accomplishment. He used for example that young men in a poor neighborhood perceive more rewards to fatherhood than those in affluent neighborhoods. All this goes back to each individual showing some sort of personal responsibility for everything they do.
I find this to be a credible source because of one main reason. This source is from the University OF Phoenix library. It would be hard to believe that the university would post information used for student research if it was not credible and reliable information. I find the information to be very relevant also. We notice every day in our great nation that kids from poor neighborhoods have kids at early ages. These kids are doing exactly what the author is saying they do in poor neighborhoods. They are looking for a way to feel like they are just as much a part of society as the kids from the affluent neighborhoods.
This information may strengthen my essay by showing that some fathers are set up for failure before they even have a chance to prove that they can be responsible fathers as well as responsible students and professionals. If fathers are having kids for all the wrong reasons they are bound to fall short in fatherhood and any other things they are involved with. As parents we should give our kids a chance at the best life possible. This means when deciding to have children and enter fatherhood you should make sure that you will be able to support the children in all aspects of the word support.
Many may conclude that the author may have a bias. They may think that the bias comes from the mentioning of fathers coming from poor neighborhoods. The people thinking that there is a bias will probably say that there are many youth in affluent neighborhoods that also have kids at the wrong time, and that they may want to feel a since of accomplishment as well as those who are from poor neighborhoods.
