Criminal Minds — Profiling Killers

Today, we will attempt to profile different types of killers.  First, you will form groups of three and each student will look at a different classification of killer:

Each student should seek the following information and write it down on the graphic organizer:

  • Common killer profile

Age

Gender

Ethnicity

  • Common profile of victim
  • # of victims over the course of activity
  • Time Span of activity (hours, days, months, years)
  • # of victims at each time
  • Manner of killing
  • Weapon most commonly used
  • Motive for killing
  • Does the killer want to be captured and/or commit suicide?

Once you have completed the research on your particular classification of killer, you can share with the class.
