The Wikipedia article on one of the two most well known soccer players on the face of the earth, Cristiano Ronaldo. This article gives you everything you need to know about him, from his origins to his achievements and more. The article captures all sorts of information about him and is able to interest and give you all you ask for and more, the article clearly uses all it’s resources to success, as it is able to provide everything it should being an encyclopedia.

The article is heavy on facts, with the first section looking at his early humble background, “Ronaldo was born in Santo António, a neighborhood of Funchal, Madeira, the youngest child of Maria Dolores dos Santos Aveiro, a cook, and José Dinis Aveiro, a municipal gardener”, this gives the reader information to be able to tell that growing up was a struggle. “ A year later, however, he was diagnosed with a racing heart, a condition that could have forced him to give up playing football. He underwent an operation in which a laser was used to cauterize the affected area of his heart; discharged from hospital hours after the procedure, he resumed training only a few days later.” Information also to show that one of the greats in his games, he almost didn’t get a chance to be the professional he is today, but thankfully he was able to treat his condition quickly enough to completely get rid of it, and the rest is history. A good background information is always good as it is able to allow readers to know or to have a feel of where exactly the person they are reading about comes from, good background information doesn’t have to be long or have every detail about someone’s childhood, it just has to have key events that stand out to making them who they are today.
