The Dallas Museum of Art is located at 1717 North Harwood Street between Woodall Rodgers Freeway and Ross Avenue in the Arts District of downtown Dallas in Texas. Being first established in 1903, the museum has been around for more than a 100 years collecting, preserving, presenting, and interpreting works of art that are of high quality and are diverse in both cultural as well as in historical aspect. The Museum has been very successful in accepting responsibility to engage and educate the community, to contribute to cultural knowledge, and to advance creative endeavor. Walter B. Elcock is currently the President of the Dallas Museum of Art.

The Dallas Museum of Art wasn't always called what it is called today and it wasn't always located where it is located today. The Museum was established as Dallas Art Association in 1903 by a group of fifty citizens. It initially exhibited paintings in the Dallas Public Library. In 1909, the Free Public Art Gallery of Dallas located in Fair Park became the home for the association's art collection. The museum relocated several times over the years, only reaching its current downtown location in 1984, when it also officially took its current name. The museum consists of paintings, sculptures, decorative designs and many artistic features. The main entrance to the museum was impressively decorate with the huge fountain of about 10-12 feet. Other entrances were also decorated with trees and waterfalls and unique modern arts. Inside the museum is the ticket booth for museum entrance, shopping shop, and different art centers.

The Dallas Museum of Art features an outstanding collection of more than 23,000 works of art from around the world, from ancient to modern times. The Museum's collections include paintings, sculptures, and works on paper from leading impressionist, post-impressionist, and early modernist artists, such as Cezanne, Daumier, Degas, Gauguin, Manet, Monet, Pissarro, Renoir,...
