Defining Creativity and Problem Solving

1. Going into this session, what questions do you have about the course and related materials?

Related to course I don’t have any partner CPS tool kit media dig, should I proceed with any partner or should I change to other tool kit? One more question should I explain tool kit with example or just provide brief description of tool kit? What is the best material to study tool kits?

1. Current Thinking: On your own, take 5 minutes to jot down a list a couple thing related to creative problem solving. Please list some commonly held beliefs/myths that people hold as well as skillset / practices that success leaders possess.

I am not creative

Fear of not creativity enough

Too much investment of time

No support from leaders

Waste of time to try new things at cooperate level especially.

Some of skillsets success leaders possess are: Innovative and creativity, having a clear     vision, solving real problems using available resources, no fear of trying new things, curiosity and confidence in achieving the goals. No back steps.

Defining Creativity and Problem Solving: Take a minute and write down a few of your first impressions when you see or hear the word Creativity.  Now write down a few of the first impressions when you see or hear the words Problem Solving.  Keep this list accessible and add, modify and delete through our discussion

Creativity: Trying new thing, presenting old thing in a new way, open mind, mindset, courage, brainstorming yourself to come with new ideas.

problem solving: Focused on problems, cause of problems, developing competencies,         find solutions to real world problems in effective way.  

1. What is your definition of creativity?  What influenced its formation?  How is it changing?  

Creativity: one thing I get to my mind is imagination of ideas to turn them to reality. In personal view always try to imagine existing or new idea solution in new way. On whole creativity is not taught but practices them every day and every second of life through imagination of things or process around you.

Influence of creativity: Fearlessness, Desire to try new thing, Move out of box, design thinking, creative thinking, leaders and motivation.

1. How does the integration of these two definitions of creativity influence your personal one?  In what ways are they similar and different?

The definition of creativity in general and my personal one mostly similar. Even though definition is similar, but creativity doesn’t have definite definition. Creativity always expressing or see thing in different way or more show you express your view or solutions in simpler or attractive way.

1. Creative People: Take a minute and think about someone who strikes you as a creative person. Then list those characteristics that support your impressions.

Steve jobs is the one person I would like to follow being creative leader. I am influenced by his way in tackle or identifying the problem and finding solution to problem without any back step or risk taking. Moreover, I like to learn leadership skillset they way he developed and lead apple to successful cooperate company in present world. Furthermore, mindset being open and listening to ideas from employers and complimenting employers for innovative ideas to problems using resources.

1. Creative Factors: Think about a time or place in which you felt particularly creative. List the characteristics of that occasion—what supported your creativity?

To be frank, creativity is always been on priority list. I am the person try to analyse every situation in everyday life to be creative in approach for every problem or thing I come across. One thing always supports me is myself with open mind and listen to ideas from every corner or every person I met. One more, quality that supports me is imagination trying to relate existing solution to new problem in new approach with existing resources around us.

1. What is your definition of problem solving?  How do you think problem solving and creative problem solving differ?

As discussed earlier, problem solving is identifying cause of problem and approaching the problem in a new way to find out solution. Especially, find answer that best suit present situation along with resources available.  

Problem solving is working on identifying cause of problem and reach solution. But creative problem solving is approaching a problem through imagination and innovative way to solve the problem.

1. How do the topics of innovation and creativity relate to each other?  Are they synonyms? Are they different?

Yes, both are related to each other. Solving a problem using innovative idea and approaching them through creative and strategic way. Yes are synonym to each other.
