To me race is a classification of one self in America. Race is inherited whereas ethnicity is something that is learned. To even go as far as to say where we are born which will be our belief of today. Truly, race is something that is ran in order to win or to place. Well if you look at it then it is a race so social static or placement is social. Race is a group of people grouped together or classified as one. Race can be grouped by history, skin color, similar jobs or nationality.
Ethnicity is our traits background or our allegiance or association with someone. For example, if I was a democratic and you are a republican or if I am popular you are a nerd, it could be anything. Ethnicity depends on what group organization we belong to will determine the social class we are classified as in America it determine whether get go work for a fortune 500 company or at McDonald's, social standing is what is really based off of. Ethnicity is not a classification that we put on our self but our society because of our skin color, hair, eye nose, where we live in our neighborhood.
These concepts are important to the United States society because when children are young, they should be taught to understand the difference in race and ethnicity. Children are our future and we shouldn't teach our children to judge or chose someone or something because of its ethnicity. We should teach our children to research and learn before doing any kind of accepting someone or an organization.
