Topic: Abortion-Adoption
Transcript:
Myself- I like to start out with asking mother a question. Mother, even though you were going through a rough patch in your life when you were in the army, did you want to take back your decision and actually have an abortion with my older brother Victor?
Mom- It may seem like a mean thing Liz, but if it wasn't for your father, I probably would've gone through with the abortion because I wasn't at that time ready to be a parent. Yet, now I would never take that back because I have a wanderful son and I'd never wanted to go through with the abortion so I decided to raise him. Once of my pregnancy with your older brother I was medically discharged from the army and met your father.
Me- What made you decide to raise Victor at that difficult part of your life?
Mom- Well, I don't believe in abortions, unless it's a medical emergency with the fetus but even so, just because you're pregnant doesn't mean you should just give up and take that childs' life away all because you believe your not ready to be a parent. How do you know, if you don't try? Your father wanted to raise Victor as his own and he wanted to be there for me too.
Me- Wow, I guess it takes a true man to raise another man's child! Dad how do you feel about abortion-adoption?
Dad- Well, it's simple really... I fallen in love with your mother and I decided to step up and be a man and take that responsibility of raising your brother as my own son. After Victor was born I decided to adopt him as my own and I'm so glad I talked your mother out of having an abortion. I can't really picture my life without my first son. I'd made a promise to be there for Victor and your mother and I just wanted to be a loving husband and father.
Mom- Well, if two people can have unprotected sexually activity, than they both should step up and raise their children the correct way without even so much as thinking about abortion.
Me- What about rape-victums and/or women who can't concieve? Do rape-victums have the right to abort a pregnancy? How do women who can't concieve cope with natural child birth and adoption?
Mom- Liz, your been doing a great job with this schooling for quite some time now and you just need to get your motivation back and get caught up.
Dad- Your mother's right honey. We're not trying to change subjects here but I'm sure your mother has things to do and I have to go to work. Please get caught up and get that degree that you want. You have a lot of potential Elizabeth and you're very smart.
