Just like any other paper, an English essay has certain general requirements and some particular structural and linguistic features of its own, and it should be well planned. It presupposes a lot of reading, investigating and researching, but above all this it requires smoothness and mastery of word.
Your language should show your profound knowledge of English. Pay maximum attention to the words you use, their meaning, be extremely careful with the phrases and turns of speech. Choose the appropriate descriptions and epithets and try not to go too far with the metaphors and metonymies. Watch your style. It should be appropriate and effective. Make it clear, direct and impressive. Edit every sentence, every construction and every composition for as many times as it takes, if you feel somewhat unsure about it.
Check out the language efficiency, your spelling, grammar, syntax, and punctuation. Remember, that it is an English essay, which means that all these aspects should be perfect. Each phrase needs to be accurate, vivid, understandable, and interesting to the reader. Don't be afraid to use various language devices, like rhetoric questions or statements, quotations, flash backs or even a joke, but mind not to overdo.
Never be lazy to edit your English essay. We are only human and we all make mistakes. It's never too late to correct them, if it's not the deadline date yet. Redo everything you have doubts about and delete everything you dislike. Double-check the spelling, grammar constructions and punctuations, and make sure the style and format are perfect.
