Artists are the men and women that make the world a pleasant place. They turn lifeless stone buildings into a wonderland of color and beauty. They can transform a lawn into beautiful landscaping. They take the imaginations of themselves and others to bring forth creativity into our world. To be an artist is to be one who spreads happiness.

I want to be an artist for several reasons. Specifically, I would like to be the designer of video games. People often do not associate video games with art, but a video game is more than just a series of code. A video game is a true work of art, combining several kinds of art into a single mesh of interactive greatness. The most important aspect in the creation of video games is the designer. Without the designer, the programmers, graphic artists and audio makers would be without a job. Often people stereotype game designers for just sitting down all day and doing nothing. In reality, a video game designer does more work than anyone else, because the designer has to figure out everything about the game first. It is up to the designer to write a script for the game, which will list everything from the story line of the game to the appearance of the game's settings. To do this job, most designers go to college for four years or more to earn a degree in Game Art and Design.

The first reason I would like to be a game designer is because that is my dream. It has been my dream ever since I knew what video games were. It is not only my dream, but it is my passion. In my opinion, I have some talent for game design. I have filled (before they got destroyed unfortunately) a plethora of notebooks on just ideas for video games that I have thought of throughout my lifetime. Unfortunately, they got destroyed because my dad threw everything away without me knowing because I was at school. I plan to do whatever it takes to make my games a reality, even if they are never a success. For me, simply bringing my games to life is success enough, but that will be impossible without a proper education.

The second reason for my wanting to be a designer of video games is the nature of the work. Game designers create a kind of story that is not just read or seen, but experienced. Before this vision can be made into an interactive story, it must first be shared with those that will make it interactive. A game designer does this by writing a script, drawing and painting concept art, and sometimes even making the games graphics him or herself. After the vision has been shared and work on the game has begun, the game designer's job is not over. If the people making the game encounter bugs in the game, the designer must be the one to determine the problem and devise a solution. Once all is said and done, the game designer must create the art that will advertise the game, such as a websites, screenshots and game-play videos.

The final reason for my dream is because I grew up
