The political implications of the Sheppard case reviewed the court case and saw it a premeditated and the crime was brutal and uncalled for leaving no other title but a "hate crime". Although the funeral of Sheppard was turned into a political event and gathered negative people known as contingent critics it probably should not have been publicized in the way that it was. I could understand people gathering to show respects but to gather to show hate is unacceptable. The national crime rate declines and the anti gay offenses are raising leaving question to what a hate crime really is.
The girl that was violently abused in school was uncalled for. A child should not be judged or punished for what their parents do or have done.
Bigotry, angry and hate are known to be the fault for why should be blamed in one of the stories. This young child is entitled to an education just as any other child. Just because he is pronounced as gay should not give anyone the right to violently abuse and beat him. The boy in this story would have been a senior and due to peoples stupid behavior against gays leads him to quit school before graduation. Fayetteville, AR was the first school to recognize anti- gay activism.
Anti gay crime doesn't discriminate. Anyone can become a victim. The gentleman name Mark was a painter raising his 2 sons from a previous marriage. Apparently with him hanging out at the gay bar brought attention to him and violence began. People that hate gays have a built up anger that causes them to want to attack and kill gays to end the problem and make a one less number of gays. This left his life altered for life. He is blind in one eye and now can not go anywhere alone. He sees life in a different set of eyes. He feels as if though he was seen as a communist. He stated that it could happen to anyone. And then there is religious components that take gays to a totally different level. They believe that gays are dying and going to hell and preach a message of a holy war on homosexuals. There has been a rise of the gay rights in the religious area. The message continually presses traditional marriage. Homosexual behavior is a creeping danger. FRC terms show that homosexual behavior is dangerous and people are going undercover to rectify it and warn others. Fight against Hate crimes and homosexuals is a growing factor.
Since back in the 80's gays were trying to exercise their rights and strongly try to gain acceptance as being gay. Gay activist view it as unequivocal activity. They are trying to be just like everyone else in society and life normally as gays or lesbians. More and more gays are coming out with society and admitting they are gay and acting as if there should be no difference and people should accept it for what it is.
