A. Preview vocabulary

1. When a country tries to accommodate new immigrants they are helping them succeed by giving them to better conditions.

2. When discrimination is being held against a minority group, they might be treated differently in the way the people look upon them and respect them. People may disrespect them and treat them differently than people from their own minority group. Etc. in the south where blacks and whites went to different schools and sat in separate areas of restaurants and movie theaters because of the segregation.

3. The national governments of many countries (US, Canada, Australia, Germany etc...) are called "federal" due to those countries being federations. A federation is a country composed many states that have federated, meaning they have given some portion of their authority (sovereignty) to a central (federal) government in order to better achieve common goals. The term is used to contrast with the governments of the individual states.

4. Inclined means "tilbøjelig" in Danish, which means that you are likely to do it.

5. Instruction could be given by both a teacher and a student, but in this case is think the proper answer to this question is that an instruction usually is given by a teacher

6. Yes, blacks and whites did go to different schools and sit in separate areas of restaurants and movie theaters. There were also special rules for the black in busses.

7. I didn't fully understood the term residential

8. Well that is a weird question since it's different from family to family. But I guess some people are more likely to speak their original native language in order to retain their culture.

9. No, if smoking is prohibited you are not allowed to smoke

10. By myself I can't really trace my ancestry very far back, but my grandma is a genealogist and I know for a fact that she can trace my ancestry very very far back.
