The problem with EuroDisney is that lack of planning led to poor performance. The lack of market research correlated with a absence of cultural awareness. American characters instead of French characters should have been used. EuroDisney prohibited alcohol in a country that loves drinking wine. The timing of the openings of parks were during The Olympics in another European state of Barcelona and the World’s Fair in Sevile. EuroDisney management was mistaken the Europeans do not eat breakfast, when they do and Europeans do not vacation as long as we do in America.
To solve these problems made by poor management and planning, Euro Disney will have to do a few things. First they need to create a French themed park that has to do with there culture; videos, books, cartoons, making it feel like it is in their home country. Promote food and lifestyle choices the French people would like. There should be a study to see how long Europeans vacation, also what they want and buy. Euro Disney will need well planned actions, as well of studies of what the culture is like so the parks pull in more people.
EuroDisney failed in having the proper planning and management when moving into a new country. Far-reaching study’s need to be done in every new country about culture, lifestyle, eating, and interests. A well planned out strategy could have prevented multiple problems EuroDisney faced. For the Future in new country’s Disney will need to be meticulous in their planning.
