Students are expected to fulfil certain requirements before they graduate a continuing care program. As a student you will be expected to maintain regular attendance in the class, lab and placements throughout your periods of study. You must also have a passing mark in all components of theory work before being accepted into a placement or being eligible to write the provincial examination. Students also are expected to have the skills, knowledge and attitudes of a CCA throughout their study periods and are expected to carry them out when working in this field.

Students are required to keep attendance up in lab, class and clinical placements. Tardiness is not expectable. They must pass all theory assignments and studies before being accepted into each placement. You also must pass all components successfully in the course outcomes within lab and placement rather than just observe.

As a graduate you can expect to develop all necessary knowledge, skills and attitudes that are required to provide the support to the persons in care (clients) who may either live at home or in a nursing home. As a education institution they will provide you with all necessary instructions and will monitor and encourage you throughout this course.

Once you come close to the completion of the theory/lab hours and the placement hours, the student is then eligible to write the provincial examination. All examinations will be written under the direction of you educational institution, the pass mark for the provincial examination is a 75%. Once you official graduate from your CCA program your name and statistics will be kept in a database at the CCA administration.
