Fear Case

Fear of your first assignment, practice or not can be extremely overwhelming. Ten years out of school, and it feels like I have lost everything. Study habits are gone, and my confidence level is extremely low. I wish I did not wait so long to jump back on the wagon. One of the reasons for procrastination to further my education, was fear! Fear that I could not succeed, that I have been out of school for so long that everyone else was getting smarter while my brain was shrinking! Fear of that very first assignment. Peers say, "Its like riding a bike. It will come back like nothing" What if my bike crashes? Writing this assignment makes me feel like I am in high school, walking in late for a final exam, pencil breaks, coffee spills, mind goes blank. I have been thinking about what should be the topic of my first paragraph for over an hour, even went as far as looking online for easy topics to write about. No help there. Then praying, asking myself why I cannot just pick a topic, I already knew that answer. Fear. Although, another thing I do know, is that once fear is overcome, it becomes the best feeling in the world.
