Fishing On A September Afternoon
One of my favorite things to do for recreation and enjoyment on my days off is
fishing. Fishing is something that was introduced to me a few years ago and I
was instantly hooked. It is very fun for me to do any time. I like to go with all my
friends and have a good time on the water. It is something that is very relaxing as well
as challenging. Seeing that fish caught on your line is a good feeling. I'll never forget
the first few times I went fishing. I remember the first fish I caught. It was a small blue
gill, but it may as well of been a 30 pound bass to me. It took me a while to get into
fishing. I was nearly 18 when I started going regularly for the first time. I always thought
it was silly and a waste of time when I was a kid. I just felt that it was dumb. Then I went
with my friend Joseph. It was always a lot of fun to go fishing with all my friends. This
always made me feel very good. Boy, was I ever surprised! I actually got into it, and we
started going several times per week. That summer I fell in love with something, and
that something was fishing.
One of my favorite things about fishing would have to be all the sounds that you
hear. The sounds of all the crickets chirping echoed throughout the pond. The chirping
was soft and very soothing. The sound of the water splash as you see a large mouth
bass flop out of the water for a few seconds and then the fish quickly returns under the
water. Its very interesting to me to see all the ripples in the water as the fish swim
towards the top of the water. When this happens, I always throw my cast towards this
spot in hope of catching the large fish who made the splash. Then of course there is the
sounds of my friends voices as they yell out in frustration as the fish that they had on
their line finds a way to wiggle free before they can pull the fish into the boat. This is
always a sound that makes me laugh. Like I said, there are many frustrations when it
comes to fishing. My friends and I make this point obvious whenever we yell out our
frustrations. As things calm down with all my friends, we can sit back and enjoy the
sound of the breeze blowing the trees around behind us. We can also hear the water
making small waves in the water.
